This week I am pleased to introduce you to Emily, one of the members of the Little Tikes Childcare Team! Emily is the youngest member of our team. She is from Salem, Ohio, a small town just southwest of Youngstown. She is currently a Junior at Kent State University majoring in Nutrition and Dietetics and would eventually like to work in childhood nutrition.
Emily has been with the Little Tikes Childcare Team for 1 year and 3 months. We consider ourselves very lucky to have Emily split her time between going to school and helping us out here at Little Tikes. Emily helps manage the Little Tikes Giving Fundraising Program (a fundraising program that provides an opportunity for organizations to earn 5% cash back on Little Tikes purchases), the Little Tikes Donations Program, the multiple birth program, the catalog mailing list and in her spare time, she helps our entire team out with anything else that we need! Whew, now that’s a lot of work for someone who is also going to school. Now you can see why she is such a valuable asset to our team.
Emily’s past job experiences have given her a lot of knowledge and understanding of how to work with people as well as with children. Her resume include jobs such as working at Bruster’s Ice Cream when she was 16, working at Bob Evans Restaurant while going to college and working at Little Tikes, endless amounts of volunteering and tons and tons of babysitting! Babysitting is what she considers a REAL job! She gives a lot of credit to moms and dads, grandmas and grandpas, and anyone in general that cares for children every single day, because it is not an easy task, but it’s such an important one. Emily babysits for her 3 nephews, ages 5, 1 and 4 1/2 months, and loves every minute of it. She says that her nephews keep her grounded and they make every day so much better with their happy faces and hearts of gold. As you can see Emily is a really busy person but all of her experiences make her a really well rounded individual. She’s a great “go-to” person for anything you need.
Emily’s favorite Little Tikes toy is the Inside/Outside Cook N Grill Kitchen! She loves it because she knows her nephew Luke loves it and because it is a great learning toy that helps develop his imagination. She thinks that this toy should be at the top of your holiday wish list!
